Donna Bylina, LMT, has completed an extensive training program to become certified in cancer and mastectomy massage under Cheryl Chapman, RN, HNC, NCTMB, NJSC, cancer and mastectomy massage specialist.
For the person and families living with cancer, a gentle touch can provide quality of life and relief from pain and stress. It will give a boost to the immune system and relieve the tension in tight muscles. A gentle touch can provide that much needed relaxation. A massage is just as beneficial for a caregiver and loved one as well.
As the breast cancer rate climbs, so does the need for mastectomy massage. Massage is beneficial for women who have undergone mastectomy and other breast surgeries such as augmentation, reduction, implantation, or removal (explantation.) Massage can relieve post-operative pain, increase the range of motion and mobility of the shoulder, and promote the rapid healing of scar tissue.
